Assessment of the Anaerobic Speed Reserve during Specific High-Intensity Exercise in Judo Athletes

چکیده

This study aimed to describe self-selected intensity and its relationship performance during a high-intensity all-out judo protocol, verify whether athletes with different anaerobic speed reserve (ASR) perform differently interval uchi-komi (judo-specific skill). We analyzed the of 28 as whole group divided into groups, according their ASR. They performed several judo-specific protocols using specific skill: maximal sprint (MSS) aerobic (MAS), intermittent protocol (12 × 20 s all-out:10 passive recovery). The main results demonstrated decrease in number repetitions an increase heart rate across sets. Athletes greater ASR higher repetitions, compared low group, they were able exercise at percentage MAS (low = 126%; SD 13%; high 152%, l9%) lower MSS 84%, 7%; 76%, 11%). However, both groups exercised similar own 50%, 20%; 53%, 19%). seem set pace around 50% within protocol. Therefore, is useful for predicting intervals.

Functional Speed Reserve as a Proxy for the Anaerobic Speed Reserve Using the Critical Speed Concept

Background: Although maximal sprint speed (MSS) and the anaerobic speed reserve (ASR) provides valuable information about the speed profile of athletes, these parameters fall short of providing important information about sub-maximal metabolic thresholds. The only field test that can offer an estimate of a sub-maximal metabolic threshold is the 3-minute all-out test for running (3MT) which deli...

High-Intensity Intermittent Training Positively Affects Aerobic and Anaerobic Performance in Judo Athletes Independently of Exercise Mode

PURPOSE The present study investigated the effects of high-intensity intermittent training (HIIT) on lower- and upper-body graded exercise and high-intensity intermittent exercise (HIIE, four Wingate bouts) performance, and on physiological and muscle damage markers responses in judo athletes. METHODS Thirty-five subjects were randomly allocated to a control group (n = 8) or to one of the fol...

Electromyography Assessment of Muscle Recruitment Strategies During High-Intensity Exercise

Electromyography (EMG) is an experimental technique concerned with the recording and analysis of myoelectric signals. Since the EMG signal detected on the surface of the skin directly reflects the recruitment and firing characteristics of the detected motor units within an area, EMG activity can be used to study the neuromuscular activation of muscles within postural tasks, functional movements...
